Frequently Asked Questions:

Socks:

All Australian-made Goomo socks are made from superfine Australian merino:

Terry hand-dyed socks:  87% superfine Australian merino, 13% Nylon

Terry Check socks:  87% superfine Australian merino, 13% nylon/elastane

Patterned socks:  70% superfine Australian merino, 30% nylon/elastane

These combinations are the perfect blend of warmth and durability.  Socks need nylon/elastane, this is what gives them the strength for long wearability; it makes them stay up and adds a soft stretch for comfort.

All our sock designs feature a comfort top!  This means that they are not restrictive on your legs and aid good circulation, and they have the perfect amount of bounce to ensure they stay up.

Rest assured, we’re here to assist you! Our sock sizes are simple to navigate. For adults, we offer two sizes: small (2-8) and large (8-11). European sizes correspond, with 35-39 falling under small and 40-44 falling under large.

When it comes to baby and child sizes, we’ve organized them by age groups, such as Newborn to 3 months. It’s a straightforward process – no need to worry!

Product & Product Care:

Please contact us immediately.  It is rare that a product would have a major fault, but if so, we will do everything we can to resolve this situation. We will happily meet our obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act.  Your item will need to be returned to examine it.  Please email us at thechief@goomo.shop  before returning any item.  If you purchased a product with a minor fault, we could choose to give you a free repair instead of a replacement or refund.

We’re confident you’ll love your Goomo product as much as we do.  However, if you receive your order and it is not as you expected, you can return it to us within 14 days for a full refund or exchange, providing it’s still in original condition, unworn with original undamaged packaging attached.  Please email us at thechief@goomo.shop  before returning your item to let us know what you would like to exchange for and why.  Please note shipping incurred with the original delivery is non-refundable, and the cost of shipping both ways to exchange a product is at your expense.  Due to hygiene reasons, we are unable to exchange socks and garments that sit against the skin that have been worn.

We do not accept returns on sale, end-of-line or outlet items.

We’re not liable for the loss of an item in transit and we recommend that you return any item using a tracked courier service.

Unfortunately, there isn’t a way to avoid pilling completely with any Merino products.  Pills are caused by the friction of rubbing against another fabric or surface. Pilling depends on several factors, including the action of the wearer; there is a greater chance of pilling if the wearer is more active, the item is not worn as intended, or the fabric is rubbed against another surface.  Pilling tends to concentrate on certain areas of an item that receives more friction.  Here’s what Woolmark Company have to say, the global authority on wool.

Pilling is a natural process and is not an indicator of poor quality, nor a reason to discard or return an item.  Pilling will happen less and less over time, as the loose fibres make their way to the surface.  So, remove pills as soon as you notice them:

  1. If only a few pills have formed, they can easily be removed by hand.  This should be done routinely after drying, or before ironing.
  2. A fabric comb can be used, this should be done very gently and carefully.
  3. Small battery-operated pill and lint removers known as fabric shavers are very effective, giving your garment an as-new appearance again.

Caring for any merino item to prevent pilling:

  • Firstly, before washing your garments, make sure to turn them inside out and place them inside a garment wash bag, wash as per instructions;
  • secondly, don’t use fabric softeners or conditioners on your wool garments; and
  • thirdly, minimise the friction and abrasion that your garment endures.

Care instructions:

Turn inside out, place in washing bag, cool gentle machine wash on wool setting with pure wool detergent.  Dry in shade.  Do not iron, bleach, wring, soak, tumble or dry clean.

Please see each individual item listing for specific care instructions appropriate to that item.

Yes, the care instructions are on each garment.  Our merino may be machine washed on a gentle wool setting, cool temperature with pure soap.  Place garments inside out in a lingerie bag first.
